Healthcare-ID was incorporated in January 1995 in Buffalo Grove IL by partners Frank Sadorf and Dick Stone with a mission to develop, market, install, and support patient and donor verification software systems
Donor-ID™ development began in 1995. The product received 510(k) clearance during February 1998 and then again in March 2000 after design enhancements suggested by blood center professionals.
Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center became the first customer to go live on Donor-ID™ in August of 2000. The blood center has been running Donor-ID™ for 10 years and has partnered in design and feature enhancements to the system throughout.
Donor-ID™ once again received 510(k) clearance in April 2002 after further feature and design improvements.
Memorial Blood Center became the second customer to go live on the system in May of 2002.
Mississippi Blood Services became the third customer to go live on the system in January of 2004.
In October 2003 the product again received 510(k) clearance after adding the CASI module to the system.
The American Red Cross began running the system nationwide in November of 2005. They annually collect over 6 million donors using Donor-ID™.
Oklahoma Blood Institute went live shortly thereafter, in January 2006.
In September of 2005 with input and design assistance from existing customers, HealthCare-ID began a complete re-write of Donor-ID™ adding many new features and a robust operational environment using web technology. The development was completed as scheduled and a 510k for the Donor-ID Web™ product was obtained in February 2007.
A daily QC module was added to the system in August 2007.
Coffee Memorial Blood Center became the first customer to go live on Donor-ID Web™ in October of 2007.
Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center upgraded to Donor-ID Web™ in June of 2008
Blood Bank of Delmarva went live on Donor-ID Web™ in December of 2008
A survey module complete with drive monitoring was added in January, 2009.
Stanford Blood Center signed.
Donor-ID Web™ received a 510k for CASI on the Internet (iCASI) and donor signature in June 2008.
LifeStream Blood Services started their Donor-ID Web™ installation planning to go live in the fourth quarter 2010.
The Institute for Transfusion Medicine (ITxM) started Donor-ID Web™ installation planning for both their Central Blood Bank and LifeSource Blood Services blood centers. A November 2010 pilot is planned.
In July 2010 Memorial Blood Center upgraded to Donor-ID Web™ with the Collection Site Quality Control module.
