Healthcare-ID was incorporated in 1995 in Buffalo Grove IL by partners Frank Sadorf and Dick Stone with a mission to develop, market, install, and support patient and donor verification software systems
Donor-ID™ development began in 1996. The product received 510(k) clearance during February 1998 and then again in March 2000 after enhanced design.
Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center became the first customer to go live on Donor-ID™ in August of 2000. The blood center has been running Donor-ID™ for over 7 years and has partnered in design and feature enhancements to the system throughout.
Donor-ID™ once again received 510(k) clearance in April 2002 after further feature and design improvements.
Memorial Blood Center became the second customer to go live on the system in May of 2002.
Mississippi Blood Services became the third customer to go live on the system in January of 2004.
In October 2003 the product again received 510(k) clearance after adding the CASI module to the system.
The American Red Cross began running the system nationwide in November of 2005. They annually collect 1.5 million donors using Donor-ID™.
Oklahoma Blood Institute went live shortly thereafter, in January 2006.
In September of 2006 with input and design assistance from existing customers HealthCare-ID began a complete re-write of the system. The new system was to be a completely web based product. The process advanced and 510k for the new product was obtained in February 2007.
A daily QC module was added to the system in August 2007.
Coffee Memorial Blood Center went live on the Donor-ID™ web based product in October of 2007.
Stanford Blood Center signed on and will begin system implementation during the first or second quarter of 2008.
