Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center implements the Abbreviated Donor History Questionnaire

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center becomes one of the first customers to use Donor-ID’s alternate health history functionality

Buffalo Grove, IL, February 3, 2014 – Healthcare-ID, Inc. and Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center announce that Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center has implemented the abbreviated version of the required pre-donation health history screening making it among the first blood centers in the nation to implement this process. Donor-ID was reconfigured by the center for this implementation and was implemented to save the donors and the staff time during the collection process.

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center went live on Donor-ID in 2000.  Bart Block, Director of Management Information Systems for Gulf Coast, states, “Any time we can make the donation process easier and more convenient for our donors, it is a tremendous benefit to us. A large number of our donors are qualifying to use the abbreviated questionnaire and are appreciating the time saved.”
