Donor-ID validated with Terumo BCT Vista system software

Healthcare-ID develops release of Donor-IDTM with Vista system software (as it works with the Trima Accel system)

Buffalo Grove, IL - October 12, 2015—Healthcare-ID, Inc., announces the release of Donor-ID with the capability to integrate with the Vista® Information System software. The Vista system interfaces directly with the Trima Accel® Automated Blood Collection System from Terumo BCT. The integration of Donor-ID with the Vista system software allows the setup parameters—for example, Donation ID, Donor ID, Donor Name, Donation Type, Blood Type and more—to be sent from Donor-ID to the Vista system. Once the procedure is completed on the Trima Accel system, the data is then passed back to Donor-ID, via the Vista system, to allow for printing and/or storing of the procedure data.

“We were very excited to work with Terumo BCT, and are extremely elated at the completion of the Donor-ID and Vista system integration. We know that this combined solution will help streamline the blood center apheresis processes, and we know that several of our current Donor-ID™ customers are eager to use this new feature,” said Bryan Sadorf, Executive Vice President and COO.

Our commitment to customers and their patients inspires us to deliver new solutions, like the interface between Donor-ID and the Vista system. The Vista system is an information technology tool that connects to and manages Trima Accel systems within a blood center. The Vista system was designed to streamline blood center processes, increase the efficiency of the Trima Accel system, and improve regulatory and quality compliance. The interface between Donor-ID and the Vista system will further improve blood center operations by automating data transfer, enabling our blood center customers to provide quality service and blood components in fewer steps,” said Tim Costello, Vice President of Blood Center Segment Product Marketing, Terumo BCT.

Donor-ID is used to collect over 7,500,000 units of blood annually at 18 blood centers across the United States:  Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center in Houston, TX; Memorial Blood Centers in St. Paul, MN; Mississippi Blood Services in Jackson, MS; Oklahoma Blood Institute in Oklahoma City, OK; Coffee Memorial Blood Center in Amarillo, TX; Blood Bank of Delmarva in Newark, DE; Stanford Blood Center in Palo Alto, CA; ITxM with Central Blood Bank in Pittsburgh, PA and LifeSource Blood Services in Chicago, IL; LifeStream in San Bernardino, CA; Dak-Minn Blood Bank in partnership with Altru Health System in Grand Forks, ND; ARUP Blood Services in Salt Lake City, UT; Heartland Blood Centers in Aurora, IL; BloodCenter of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI; Central California Blood Center in Fresno, CA; Miller-Keystone Blood Center in Bethlehem, PA; Lifeblood: Mid-South Regional Blood Center in Memphis, TN; and the American Red Cross, nationwide.
