Healthcare-ID, Inc. releases Donor Adverse Reaction Module

Working with the AABB Biovigilence Project Team, Healthcare-ID develops a Donor Reaction Module.

Buffalo Grove, IL, March 22, 2010 - Healthcare-ID, Inc., announces that Donor Reaction Module has been released.  Donor Reaction was completed over a 10 month period, working with the AABB Biovigilance Working Group to develop a module to collect information on donor adverse reactions.  This data is collected and can be uploaded to AABB.  "We are very pleased at the ease of working with the AABB group, and think the project in general was very worthwhile.  Early on we recognized that this project would be good for the blood industry and in the end for donors" said Bryan Sadorf, Vice President of Product Management.

Initial feedback from the industry has also been very positive.  Dr. Mary Townsend, who is the Medical Director of Coffee Memorial Blood Center, Amarillo, Texas, also served as the chair of the ABC Donor Reaction Working Group, as a member of the AABB Donor Biovigilance Working Group, and as a member of the AABB Young Donor Reaction Working Group.  She states she "is ecstatic about the development of this donor reaction module and is excited about implementing this technology at Coffee Memorial Blood Center as soon as possible."

Donor-ID WebÔ  is used to collect over 7,000,000 units of blood annually at eleven blood centers across the United States:  Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center in Houston, TX; Memorial Blood Center in St Paul, MN; Mississippi Blood Services in Jackson, MS; Oklahoma Blood Institute in Oklahoma City, OK; Coffee Memorial Blood Center in Amarillo, TX; Blood Bank of Delmarva in Newark, DE; Stanford Blood Center in Palo Alto, CA, LifeStream in San Bernardino, CA, ITxM in Illinois (LifeSource Blood Services), Pennsylvania, and West Virginia (Central Blood Bank),  and The American Red Cross, nationwide.  Seven customers are using SafeTrace as their data management system.  Healthcare-ID also has customers using BBCS, LifeTec, and NBCS.
